Share a dog walk

Know a good walk with your dog? Tell us where it is, what it's like, or send the route from your phone or watch. Fill in as much or as little as you like. Every walk is checked before it appears.

The walk Name of the walk A short name so we know which walk it is. Make one up if it hasn't got one.

Then add any of these three. One is fine, all three is best.

1. The route

Upload a file from my phone or watch

Works with GPX, TCX, KML and GeoJSON files, which almost every walking and fitness app can save.

How do I get a file from my app?

Strava: open the walk on strava.com, press the three dots (…) and choose Export GPX.
Garmin Connect: open the activity on connect.garmin.com, press the cog and choose Export to GPX.
Komoot: open the tour, press the three dots and choose Download GPX (or Export as GPX in the app).
OS Maps, AllTrails, Outdooractive and most others: look for Export, Download or Share on the route and pick GPX.
On a phone: save the file to Files (iPhone) or Downloads (Android), then press Upload a file above and pick it.
No file? Press Draw it on the map and tap along the path you walked.

If you add a route, we use its first point as the start.

What happens next

We check every walk before it goes on the site, usually within a week.
We may tidy the words and check the route against the map.
Dog notes from walkers are shown as tips. For dog rules on beaches, we only use official council and landowner sources.
