Knapdale: Loch Coille-Bharr Trail

5.1 km · Strenuous · round walk · starts at Barnluasgan car park, Knapdale

A circuit of Loch Coille-Bharr in Knapdale, where wild beavers live; look for their dams and gnawed trees.

Terrain

Many short steep slopes, rough steps, rocky and rooty sections, kissing gates and a stretch of road.

Dogs

Forestry and Land Scotland doesn't list its own dog rules for this forest. Under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, dogs are welcome if kept under proper control: on a short lead or close at heel near farm animals, and in forests, moorland and on loch shores during the April to July bird breeding season. Pick up after your dog. Beavers and other wildlife live here, so keep dogs close. Keep dogs close near livestock and cliff edges.
