Wirral Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.
Partly added
- Pick up after your dog.
- A smaller order was later proposed to replace old byelaws: dogs on a lead in cemeteries, and no dogs in play areas, games areas and kickabouts. The council has not recorded a final decision, so follow signs.
- Beach rules are on the Beaches layer.
The 2018 plan to ban dogs from beaches and parks was dropped after 30,000 people objected.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
