Stoke-on-Trent City Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.

Partly added

  • The 2020 draft order puts dogs on a lead on roads and pavements and in listed parks and gardens (not public footpaths or bridleways).
  • No dogs in play areas, marked pitches, bowling greens or games courts. No more than four dogs per person in listed parks.
  • Pick up anywhere and carry a bag if an officer asks.

From the council's 2020 draft order; check signs for the current rules.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
