North Northamptonshire Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

Rules added

Dogs on a lead (2 metres max) on listed roads, verges, car parks, parks, cemeteries and wetland sites.
No dogs in fenced or signed play areas, games courts and some listed playing fields and cemeteries, such as Meadow Road Park in Kettering.
Put your dog on a lead if an officer asks. Pick up; not having a bag is no excuse.

From 1 December 2023 for three years.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
