Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- No more than four dogs per person (six with a dog walking licence).
- Dogs on a lead on pavements within 3 metres of a road, and whenever an officer asks.
- Dogs must leave children's play areas in parks straight away. Pick up; not having a bag is no excuse.
From 1 May 2025 for three years.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
