Cardiff Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Pick up after your dog in public places, and show bags if an officer asks.
- No dogs in fenced sports and play areas, enclosed council playgrounds or school grounds. Outdoor pitches can be used when not in use.
- Dogs on a lead in all council cemeteries, and when an officer asks. Keep dogs under proper control.
- £100 fixed penalty.
City-wide order from 4 October 2021, since renewed.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
