Buckinghamshire Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.

Partly added

  • Older district dog orders still apply in places: signed no-dog playgrounds, lead zones in cemeteries and churchyards, and in some areas a limit of four dogs per person. Look for signs.
  • Pick up after your dog. £50 fixed penalty.
  • Dogs in public must wear a collar and tag with the owner's name and address.
  • Follow lead notices near sheep and other livestock.

Council PSPOs reviewed October 2025.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
