Bromley Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

Rules added

Dogs on a lead on all roads, pavements, footpaths, verges and council car parks, in listed lead areas (including the seven cemeteries), and whenever an officer asks.
No dogs in listed areas such as playgrounds and boating ponds.
No more than three dogs per person (four with a £200 council licence). Pick up. £100 fixed penalty (£80 if paid within 10 days).

Renewed unchanged from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029. A plan to ban dogs from cemeteries was dropped.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
